Doritos Taco Salad: A Crunchy Twist on a Classic Favorite

  • 1 lb 95% lean ground beef
  • 1 1.25 oz packet reduced sodium taco seasoning
  • 1 medium-large head of iceberg lettuce chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 medium-large tomato diced
  • 4 oz 50% less fat or 2% sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 4 oz nacho cheese Doritos broken up into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup light Catalina or French dressing

  • Directions:
  • Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
  • Season: Add the taco seasoning packet to the skillet and stir until the beef is well coated. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Combine Salad Ingredients: In a large serving bowl, mix the chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
  • Add Beef: Once the beef has cooled, add it to the salad bowl.
  • Toss with Doritos and Dressing: Just before serving, add the broken Doritos and dressing to the salad. Toss everything together to ensure the salad is evenly coated.
